Some aging adults in Lackawanna County need help with daily living tasks to maintain their independence. Unfortunately, they often have to wait longer than expected to receive assistance due to a shortage in the elderly care workforce.
To help combat this issue, Telespond has created the Friendly Faces program in cooperation with the Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging. By participating in the Friendly Faces program, you can help older adults in your community who need a little assistance – and you’ll receive compensation in thanks for the time you spend serving your community.
How It Works:
- Friendly Faces members provide light care services for friends, relatives, and neighbors in need. This can include help with daily/weekly tasks around the home (such as chores and meals).
- Friendly Faces members receive compensation for the time they spend helping older adults in Lackawanna County lead the lives they choose.
If you’d like to learn more about participating in the Friendly Faces program, even if you are already taking care of a loved one, call Telespond at 570-346-7860 and ask for the Friendly Faces program coordinator.
